I’m Madeleine, the photographer behind Made by Light Photos.
I’m drawn to photographs that feel lived in rather than overly arranged. The way someone reaches for a hand, the breath before a laugh, wind moving through a dress, or the quiet pause that happens when everyone forgets the camera is there.
My work brings together the clarity of digital photography and the texture of film. I offer direction when it is useful, but I never want the process to feel like a performance. The goal is to create photographs that are thoughtful, honest, and connected to the people inside them.
Based in San Diego, I photograph weddings, couples, portraits, families, creatives, and everyday stories throughout Southern California and beyond.
